"You saved my life and I am forever grateful…"
Every day, we receive notes like these from readers all over the world who depend on Helpguide to improve and even save their lives.
Helpguide.org was launched in 1999, inspired by Robert and Jeanne Segal’s belief that if unbiased, reliable mental health material had been freely available when their daughter, Leslie Morgan Segal, took her life at age 29, her tragedy could have been avoided. Since then, this website has grown from a small local project to an internationally recognized resource serving over 50 million people a year who read our articles.
The Helpguide project now includes a collaboration with Harvard Health Publications and a special mobile site for smart phones.
The project is entirely funded by charitable contributions. We do not accept advertising or corporate sponsorship, allowing us complete editorial autonomy.
100% of your contribution goes directly to website maintenance and development. Each dollar contributed enables us to serve over 100 Helpguide readers.
